“I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “No one who comes to me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in me will ever be thirsty again.  John 6:35 CSB

As Jesus fed the 5,000, He satisfied the physical hunger of the people, but their hunger returned the next day.  Jesus then pointed them to a deeper, spiritual longing.  He claimed to be the “bread of life” that would forever fulfill them, and they would never be hungry again.  His purpose was to satisfy the deep sense of hunger within the spirit.  He gives us peace and hope. Do you know Jesus in that way?  Let Him fill you, and you will never hunger again.  

Most Gracious Heavenly Father, 

Thank you for your mighty provisions, both physically and spiritual.  Help me remember, when I hunger and thirst for more, that only you will satisfy that longing.  Help me to find fulfillment in you and not in things of this world.
