All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.  2Timothy 3:16 (NAS)

In addition to its divine inspiration and absolute truth, the apostle Paul tells us that Scripture is profitable. This perfect word association is a reminder that the time you spend in God’s Word yields a much greater return than your investment. One benefit we receive is that the Bible teaches us sound doctrine. It reveals the true character of God and shines light on His profound love for His people. The Word exposes our sin, but it also corrects us and teaches us how to live godly lives. When we let the Lord speak to us from His Word, it transforms our thinking and builds our faith. Read the Bible thoughtfully and carefully – the believer who meditates on God’s Word is abundantly blessed. 

Dear Lord,

I am so grateful that You are not just a good teacher offering sound advice. You know my heart. You know my joys and my sorrows, my triumphs and my disasters. No matter what I’m going through, You show me love and understanding through Your Word. I want to walk in Your ways.
