A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22 (HCSB)
This verse speaks to us today just as it did centuries ago. Medical and psychological studies have shown the effects a positive and encouraging outlook have on our physical and mental health. The Lord knows that the way we navigate trials and tribulations affects not only our bodies but our minds. When we feel hopeless and lost, it takes a toll on our whole being. But God never intended His children to walk in despair. The Lord designed us to live in His love. God loves us so much that He gave His Son as a living sacrifice so we would not live in darkness but in light. He desires our lives to exemplify the joy we have in Jesus. Our eternal benefits begin in our lives right now-a joyful heart is good medicine indeed.
Dear Lord Jesus,
I am so thankful that You dwell in my heart. Thank you for Your sacrifice on my behalf. How You must love me! I thank You for the true joy You have given me. Help me to remember that You are always near.
I love You, Lord.
Amen
