Consider the lilies and wildflowers, how they grow [in the open field}. They neither labor nor spin [wool to make clothing]; yet I tell you not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these.   Luke 12:27 (AMP)

Once again, the Lord uses a parable to teach His followers. Luke writes that flowers make no effort to be beautiful. They just live day by day.  God provides the soil, sun, and rain to care for them. The flowers are not worried about their needs.  Do you sometimes worry about your needs and how they can be met?  Do you sometimes forget to take your concerns to God first? Have you ever experienced poor results because you moved forward without asking for the Lord’s provision? We have all been guilty of depending on ourselves rather than the Lord at some time in our lives. The Lord knows our hearts. He knows the worries that keep us in a state of unrest. God wants us to trust and rest in Him. He takes care of the flowers- He will care for You, if you seek Him. Are you tired of the worries you carry? God is so patient. He is waiting for you to give your burdens to Him.

Dear Lord,

Help me to trust You in every situation. I am so tired of trying to do everything on my own. I am exhausted from worry and anxiety. Forgive me for not trusting You to meet all my needs. I surrender my worries to You. I give control to You, and You alone. Sometimes I wonder why You continue to love me, but I thank You and praise You because You do. You care for me in ways I will never completely know, because I am Yours.
