“And whoever gives just a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple – I assure you: He will never lose his reward!”  Matt 10:42 (HCSB)

How often do you do something for someone who can never do anything for you in return? Have you ever done an act of service or kindness anonymously? While the recipients of the kind deeds may never know it was you, God certainly sees and knows. He even knows our motivation and attitude when we serve others. How you treat and love others is a direct reflection of your love for God. These “deeds” are just a byproduct of our desire to please God.

Read the last part of the verse again. God reassures us that He holds our rewards and they will not go void.

Lord Jesus,

Help me to slow down. Please help me see ways You want me to serve and give to others. Soften my heart and open my eyes to those in need around me. Lord, help me to keep a quiet spirit when I serve others. Let my reward be that I pleased my You. Thank You, Jesus!
