Do you intentionally encourage people? We all have a basic need to feel valued and appreciated. Sincere words of praise, a kind note, or a helping hand may be exactly what someone needs to keep them going. Expressing gratitude for good work or acts of service they have done may build them up more than you realize. By teaching ourselves to notice what is good and positive, and calling attention to those things, we encourage and uplift those around us and help them to thrive. Use your words to bless others. In so doing, you will also honor the Lord.

Dear Lord,

 Please show me who to encourage today. Help me notice when someone is feeling unappreciated or forgotten and show me how to lift them up. Give me a heart that loves others and remind me to affirm them whenever it is needed.

I love You, Lord.
