If the greatest pianist who ever lived offered to teach you to play, you would probably pay close attention. So it is when Jesus teaches us to pray- He knows everything we need to learn.

 You will notice that the entire first half of His model prayer is about God Himself, not the needs 

Dear Heavenly Father,

I am so grateful that I can come to You in prayer. Your goodness is unequaled and Your power is unlimited. You can do and have anything You desire, yet You choose to have a personal relationship with me. Thank You for teaching me to pray- I want to continually draw closer to You,
