And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Matthew 6:7-8 (NAS)
In teaching us how to pray, Jesus emphasizes simplicity. He even tells us that God knows what we are going to ask before we utter a word. Then why pray? Prayer is about only one thing-spending time with God. The purpose of prayer is conversation and connection with our heavenly Father, and a fruitful prayer life is only possible when we are in relationship with Him. God actively pursues a loving relationship with each of His children. Spend time with Him in prayer. Include Him in every part of your life. Spontaneous moments of heartfelt prayer will draw you closer to Him than you ever imagined.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me and listening to my prayers. I know You are never too busy for me, You are my lifeline. Please remind me to pray continually.
I love You, Lord.
Amen.
