In Scripture, names are especially significant- they are chosen for their meaning, revealing a person’s character or destiny. Because God is divine and transcendent, one name could never adequately describe Him. Learning His various names in Scriptural context reveals more of His attributes, His power and purposes than the name God alone. As you understand more of His character, your relationship with Him naturally deepens, and your reverence increases. Our all-sufficient, all-powerful, holy and infinite God and Father desires a personal relationship with you. He invites you to know Him more completely and to call Him by name.

Most Gracious Heavenly Father,

I have learned that no matter how long or how well I know You, there is always more. I love the way Your Word reveals more about You through Your beautiful names. Please continue to teach me and deepen my understanding.
