And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.  Romans 12:2 (NAS)

Studies in neuroscience confirm that our thoughts shape us more than our circumstances do. In fact, if you allow past hurts and failures to have space in your mind, they fester there and control the way you see yourself and what you do. But God (don’t you just love those two words?), in His infinite wisdom, designed our brains to be adaptable. Even thought patterns you have allowed for years can be changed. Ask God to show you negative beliefs you are carrying- especially those you have “buried” within. Then reject those mindsets deliberately and replace them with God’s truth. Write out a Scripture verse to counter any negative ideas you identify and read it aloud several times a day. Meditate on it intentionally, allowing God to transform your thinking. The way God sees you is true; anything else is worthless.

Dear Lord,

I want to be everything You created me to be. Please help me identify negative mindsets that limit me. I offer You my heart and my mind. Show me who I am in Your eyes.

I love You, Lord.

Amen.
