My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-6 (NAS)
Most of us would say that we absolutely trust in the Lord. On closer introspection though, we might find that we trust a lot of other sources of help as well. We may be trusting more than we realize in bank accounts, family and friends, or advice gleaned from the internet or television. While none of these things are necessarily wrong, the psalmist is talking about the true inclination of the heart. Put aside all else. If every other avenue of trust was removed from you, would you be able to stand strong in God, knowing that He alone is completely reliable, trustworthy, and able to keep you safe? At the end of the day, He is the only true security we have. He will never fail you.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for caring for me. I know that I am safe in Your hands; all my hope is in You. You are always with me, and in You I find strength and peace of mind. Regardless of the obstacles I face, You are my stronghold and the solid rock upon which I stand.
I love You, Lord.
Amen.
