Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  Romans 12:21 (NAS)

An empty cup isn’t effective for quenching thirst until its emptiness is replaced by filling it with water. We don’t concentrate on removing the emptiness, but on filling the cup. Similarly, God did not accomplish salvation by removing evil from the world, but by pouring His presence into it by the life of Christ. Jesus replaces judgment with compassion, sorrow with comfort, and hatred with love. When we focus on our Savior, abide in Him and dwell in His presence, we will be effective in offering living water to a thirsty world. We don’t concentrate on removing evil, but on replacing it with good. 

Dear Lord,

You gave up Your glory in heaven to live among men and show us what love is. Help us to share Your love with others in our words and actions. Remind us that You poured out this gift to us so that we can pour it out in turn.

I love You, Lord.
