The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent. Exodus 14:14 (NAS)
The context of this verse is that the Israelites, having been freed from slavery, were now confronted with the Red Sea before them and the Egyptian army behind them. Their reaction was to wail and complain to Moses, who spoke these words to them. God was about to perform a mighty miracle for these people (not their first one), but only Moses seems to have been confident that God would come through. The words still speak to us today, calling us to change our focus from the size of our problem to the greatness of our God. He can overcome every challenge or obstacle we face. But we are not meant to stand idly by and wait. Just as the Israelites needed to keep moving, we need to quiet our hearts, surrender our fears, and take the next step. Have faith that God will fight for you. He will deliver you from the enemy’s attacks as you continue to live out the calling He has given you.
Dear Lord,
My first response to every problem should be quiet trust in Your strength. Please help me remember to release all anxiety and be confident that You will fight for me. I live in Your protection and that gives me peace of mind even when I am unsure of what lies ahead.
I love You, Lord.
Amen.
