Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the hearts. Proverbs 21:2
Commit your works to the LORD and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3 (NAS)
Many people see the new year as a time to set new goals and plan changes in their lives. The idea has merit, but there is little hope for any meaningful change unless one earnestly seeks the Lord first. If you choose to make resolutions, ask God what He would have you do. Prayerfully examine your motives for making changes. Will your goals move you forward spiritually? Do they focus on strengthening your relationship with Jesus and advancing His kingdom? God has a plan for your life. Ask Him to show you how to move into it more completely. Then honor Him and obey.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for being at work in my heart and in my life. You promise to prepare the way for me, and I truly want to walk according to Your plans. Help me to make changes and resolutions that line up with Your will; guide my thoughts and actions so that I can glorify You.
I love You, Lord.
Amen.
