And though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.  1 Peter 1:8-9  NAS

The joy of salvation never changes, never grows old, never leaves us. As we get to know Jesus better, our joy increases and fills us regardless of circumstances. Joy is deeper, richer, and more solid as we learn to walk closer with Him and trust Him more. When we reflect on God’s goodness, we can choose joy even in trying times. True joy is rooted in who God is and His love for us.

Dear Lord,

I know that You are the only source of true joy. Help me to trust You always and to choose to be a joyous believer. Happiness will never be enough, but a joyful heart doesn’t depend on the things of this world. I choose to depend completely on You. I choose joy.

I love You, Lord.
