When life is frightening and seems dark, what is your first response? When circumstances become difficult or painful, it is natural to fear. Denying fear doesn’t make it go away, but we can pour our hearts out to God -and He invites us to do so! He is our light in the darkness. Offering Him a sacrifice of thanksgiving calms anxiety, quiets fear and draws us closer to God. Fears dissipate, faith is refreshed, and we find that He alone is our stronghold.

Dear Lord,

You are my strong tower. You are my refuge and fortress and the One I can always turn to. You are my strength and my shield. My darkness is illuminated by your glory!
