Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength;                                                                    They will mount  up with wings like eagles,                                                                                              They will run and not get tired,                                                                                                                        They will walk and not become weary.

 Isaiah 40:31 (NAS)

The Hebrew word, yihliphu, translated here as “renew”, is an indication of a new state taking the place of an old one – not just a temporary refreshment. We exchange our weakness for His strength. We rise above our circumstances. Eagles soar, runners endure, walkers continue without giving up.  We switch from our small ability and strength to the infinite power of God. This strength is not our own- it flows to us from God when we abide in Christ.

Dear Lord,

When I am weary, remind me that I can be an overcomer because You have given me everything I need. I am Yours, and You delight to see me accomplish things I could never have done on my own. You are my King, and I am overjoyed that I belong to You.

I love You, Lord.

Amen.
