For my people have committed two evils; They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water.  Jeremiah 2:13 (NAS)

God’s plan is for Christians to be part of a body of believers. We are much stronger together than on our own. But if we are not careful, our dedication to the Lord can become blurred with our planning, our programs and agendas. Little by little, our relationship with God can become watered down to a “church life”. It may not be obvious to other people, but it cannot satisfy over time. Only God can. Seek the Lord before all else.  Look to him for the continual replenishment of your soul. He alone is the source of living water that never runs dry.

Dear Lord,

Your Word is my source of abundant provision. You fill my heart with joy and strength that I could never produce on my own. I can serve You best by waiting on You first in worship, praise, and prayer. Remind me, Lord, not to run ahead of You, and to rely on You to show me what You would have me do. You are my King. 

I love You, Lord.
