Thus says the LORD, “I remember the devotion of your youth, your love as a bride, how you followed me in the wilderness, in a land not sown. Israel was holy to the LORD, the firstfruits of His harvest.”   Jeremiah 2: 2- 3a (ESV)

Do you remember the first joy of your salvation? The overwhelming realization of who God is and what He had done for you was foremost in your mind; the Holy Spirit ignited a flame in your soul, and every heartbeat was the sound of forgiveness and peace. Your desire to please God gave new purpose to your life, and His Word brought constant assurance of His love. Though the first excitement may mellow a bit, God is always calling us higher and deeper in our faith and understanding. Be mindful of His presence and the inexhaustible grace He continues to lavish upon us for our journey. Our ultimate treasure is always the God of grace.

Dear Lord,

New life in Christ changes everything, and I pray that I will never stop letting it change me. I want to follow where You lead and trust Your perfect love. Make me aware every opportunity to share what You have done for me with someone who doesn’t know You. It is far too great a gift to keep it to myself.

I love You, Lord.
