What a sweet way to end every day – lying down in calm contentment and sleeping peacefully in the serenity of trusting the Lord. We have no power of our own to protect ourselves from the onslaught of our crazy culture – we have something far better. The God of the universe holds us in His hands, and we need no other protection. We can have profound peace, knowing that He holds all our tomorrows, and He has a plan we can trust. True rest is found only in Him. He is our secure refuge, and He is sufficient. We will not have a trouble-free life, but at the end of the day, problems do not have the last word. God does – and He offers us peace.

Dear Lord,

I owe my peace to You alone. I commit myself and my loved ones to Your care. Remind me to quell anxious thoughts and rest in Your promises and protection.

I love You, Lord.
