Morning Moments at FBC Senoia

Starting everyday with the JOY of the Lord!

Wednesday October 1, 2025

I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the clouds. Psalm 57:9-10

Singing praises to God or listening to praise music can change our mood and our perspective. Psalm 57 begins with David crying out to God for deliverance from his enemies who are pursuing him.  But this psalm ends with David singing.  I suspect that David, in his distress, did not feel like singing. David needed reminding that God is powerful and mighty to save in every circumstance. We can cry out to God with honest, raw lament, as the psalmists did.  And we can turn our focus upward and sing to Him who is the Name above all Names.  I think He loves our voices, even the ones that struggle to carry a tune. Just keep singing!

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for allowing us to pour our hearts out to You.  You are a God of comfort and compassion.  During times of sadness, we may not feel like singing, but help us to lift our praises to You without ceasing.  You are our Victor over the enemy. Let our praises and songs be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear.

I love You, Lord.  Amen.
