Ah Lord God! Behold, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by Thy great power and by Thine outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for Thee.    Jeremiah 32:17 (NAS)

Jeremiah wrote these words at a time when the Israelites had abandoned God’s Law. They made sacrifices to false gods, committed every form of sin, and called evil good. Jeremiah was rejected and ridiculed for proclaiming God’s Word, but he remained faithful. He held fast to his belief that The Lord who made heaven and earth was able to keep His promises to His people, even when it seemed impossible. It is comforting to remember the omnipotence of God in this crazy world where everyone wants to determine their own morality and truth. Like the prophet, we need to hold firmly to God’s promises. We know we can trust in His supremacy and sovereignty. The truth is we are never really in control. But our God is omnipotent! All things are subject to His wisdom and strength. The same God who spoke the universe into existence can handle any problems we have. He is able.

Dear Lord,

The world seems out of control sometimes, and people do things that make no sense at all. But I know Your power is the same today as when You called light out of darkness and put the stars in the expanse of the heavens. I trust You completely, Lord, and that gives me both comfort and strength. You are God, and there is no other. 

I love You, Lord.
