And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.    Romans 8:27 (NAS)

Just as the Holy Spirit helps us when we cannot find words to pray, He also helps us in what to pray. Human perspective is limited; we don’t really know what to ask from the Lord. Do we ask for deliverance from the struggle or strength to get through it? Should we pray for healing or ask God to use us in sickness?  We may feel confused and discouraged, but God’s Word assures that the effectiveness of our prayer does not depend on us. The Holy Spirit is praying with us and for us. He is not all confused, and He is never at a loss for how to communicate with the Father.  Even our wordless cries are perfected and brought to our heavenly Father who knows our hearts and knows the mind of the Spirit who indwells us. Trust Him completely-He will not fail you.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for hearing my prayers and for Your Spirit praying for me according to Your will. I can’t see how everything will turn out, but I trust You. I have confidence that Your Spirit lives within me and I am so grateful that He makes my inadequate words into perfect petitions to lay before You.

I love You, Lord.
