I have called upon You, for You will answer me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech. Psalm 17:6 (NASB)
Prayer is the primary way we communicate with God, so it makes sense that we should engage in the process as often as possible. We all have busy lives and schedules, but prayer is something we can incorporate into our day at any time-in checkout lines, carpool lines, lunch break, and momentary lulls in the activity. This doesn’t mean we are assigning prayer less importance than it deserves. It means we realize that He is always with us. Closing out commotion, intentionally gathering your jumbled thoughts, and praying in silence draws you closer to your heavenly Father. Cultivate the ability to seek peace from the uproar, to silence distractions. If it’s difficult, that’s okay. You will get better at it as you practice the process. Ask God to help (He will, He always does).
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me to actively seek Your presence. Sometimes it’s a struggle to close everything out and quiet my thoughts, so I ask You to help me. You know it’s a battle, and You don’t expect me to do it on my own. Thank You Lord, for caring so much about me. I desperately want close communion with You, and I believe You will continue to lead me in that direction.
I love You, Lord.
Amen
