Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from Your law. Psalm 119:18 (NAS)
Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law, and keep it with all my heart. Psalm 119:34 (NAS)
Scripture is the best place not only to learn about God, but to know Him– intimately and deeply. The more time we spend in the Word of God, the more we see His heart, His faithfulness, and His grace. God desires to make Himself known to us. As we draw near to Him through His Word, it changes us. Our eyes are opened and we begin to see things and people differently. We gain wisdom and understanding. God has given us His Word to enable us to become more like Him. We find that we genuinely want to spend more time in His presence, and earnestly seek Him. Scripture speaks to our hearts because it is perfect and relates to us no matter what our circumstances or season of life. It turns our hearts to the Lord, and we find that we truly desire His direction, and Truth. As often as we turn to God’s Word, He is waiting there.
Dear Lord,
Your Word is so important in my life. I thank You for guarding it through the ages and keeping it safe. Thank You for allowing me to live in a time and place where I can read it and know You more. I ask You to bless those who work to take the Word to people who have no access to Bibles. I know that You can overcome every obstacle.
I love You, Lord.
Amen
