Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17 (NAS)
Paul, writing a letter of instruction and encouragement to Timothy, suddenly breaks out in high praise to God! His words inspire worship as he praises the attributes of the Lord that elevate Him over man. Paul addresses God not as Father, but as King, outside of time and unknowable by human senses. He focuses not on God’s mercy and compassion, but on His power and glory, exalting His majesty throughout the ages. Paul magnifies the Lord, and worships Him wholeheartedly.
We too, should remember to exalt the Lord, and declare His sovereignty. When we praise Him for His absolute holiness, and power, our perspective shifts. There is great peace is the heart of a believer who recognizes that God Most High, the Holy and Mighty One is with us and watches over us.
Dear Lord,
When I think of who You really are- Almighty, Everlasting, Lord of heaven and earth, I am filled with awe and wonder. I thank You and praise You, Lord, because I know that the King Eternal has chosen to reveal Himself, in part, to me. Now I see dimly, but there is coming a day when I will literally bow before Your throne and worship You with all the saints and angels.
I love You, Lord.
Amen
