Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me?

Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.  Psalm 42:5 (NAS)

We all face disappointments and difficulties in life, but like the psalmist, we can choose not to let despair overcome us. When we make a conscious choice to praise God, we shift our focus from self to Savior. We choose to put our hope in God, trusting His goodness, and believing that He is at work even when we cannot see it. In faith we remember that His ways are always better than ours. As we focus on God’s unchanging character and His great love for us, we lay all our burdens at His feet. In His presence we find peace and courage. We are never without hope.

Dear Lord,

No matter how great my challenges are, I know that You are bigger. I surrender all my fears and worries to You and praise Your name. I trust Your plans for me; please let Your peace fill my heart. You are always with me. Right now, I pray for other downcast souls. I pray that You will help them in this moment. Comfort and uplift them, Lord, and let them see Your light in the darkness.

I love You, Lord.
