For the LORD your God has blessed you in all that you have done; He has known your wanderings through the great wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing.   Deuteronomy 2:7 (NAS)

Though they had disobeyed God time after time, God blessed the Israelites with food, clothing, and protection through all their years of wilderness living. They were His covenant people, and He was faithful.

Doesn’t this crazy, confusing, ungodly world seem like a wilderness sometimes? That’s because, like the Israelites, we are His people, and this world is not our home. But God is aware of your journey, and He has watched over you every step of the way. You may not have everything you want, but God has never failed to provide all you need. The world will constantly bombard you with wanting more, but trust in God. He will protect and provide for you always.

Dear Heavenly Father,

It can be challenging to keep the right perspective in a mixed-up world where simplicity and godliness are lightly valued. But You are my God and my King and I trust You completely to keep my feet on the narrow path. Thank You for providing for me in every way through the journey that leads me home to You. 

I love You, Lord.
