And there was a woman in in the city who was a sinner… and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears, and kept wiping them with the hair of her head, and kissing His feet and anointing them with the perfume. Luke 7: 37- 38 (NAS)
And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” Luke 7: 50 (NAS)
See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have. Luke 24:39 (NAS)
Jesus lived among ordinary people. He walked and talked with them and physically touched them. He also allowed people to touch Him. Many of those present were offended when Jesus allowed a sinful woman to anoint and kiss His feet, but Jesus welcomes broken people to be in intimate relationship with Him. And when He was resurrected from the grave, He invited His sorrowful followers to touch Him and know He was real.
Jesus still invites us to be in close relationship with Him. We touch Him with our prayers, praise, and worship. He is our very real, intimate and loving Savior.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for inviting me into relationship with You. You have drawn me closer to You over the years. You are the Holy Lord of Glory; yet You chose me to be Your intimate friend.
I love You, Lord.
Amen
