Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.
Psalm 139:23 (NAS)
Life can get crazy- situations and circumstances are frequently beyond our control. But how we conduct ourselves is entirely up to us. Scripture and neuroscience agree that our lives follow the direction of our thoughts-what we think shapes who we are. So, how do we guide our thinking? We do it by continually renewing our minds with God’s Truth. Read or listen to the Word as often as possible; memorize passages that speak to you strongly, and apply what you learn. God’s Word in your heart is the best way to transform your mind.
Dear Lord,
I confess that I am not always careful to govern my thoughts. Emotions and how I feel physically sometimes take over. But I don’t want to be blown about by feelings. Please help me redirect my thoughts so that my words and actions honor You. Remind me to turn to Your Word, written, spoken, or hidden in my heart. Thank You, Lord that Your Truth is always available to me.
I love You, Lord.
Amen
