“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 

John 14:21 (NASB)

This one verse is packed with enough promise to be life-changing. We would like to say that we meet Jesus’ criterion; we try to keep His commands, but how well do you really know Jesus? Do you mostly know aboutHim or do you have a living, dynamic relationship with Him? The best place to get to know Him more is Scripture. Read the Gospels often. Imagine yourself there, seeing and hearing Him- encountering the Son of God Himself. Get to know Him intimately, and ask Him to disclose Himself to you. There is no other relationship as important as this.

Dear Lord Jesus,

The desire of my heart is to know You more-to live in nearness to You. Open my eyes as I read the Gospels. Help me see and hear You -the God- man, the light of the world, the teacher and healer. I am eager to go deeper with You.
