“But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” And Jesus said to him,” ‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”  Immediately the father of the child cried out and said,” I believe; help my unbelief!”    Mark 9:22b-24  (ESV)

In this narrative, a father asks Jesus to heal his child, but he reveals his doubts about Jesus’ ability by saying “if you can”.  He is struggling between faith and doubt.  Can you relate?  I have proclaimed my faith in Jesus and His ability to do the miraculous, but at times I still struggle with letting doubt seep in.  Thankfully, Jesus knows our weaknesses and does not condemn us when we ask for help.  Apart from Him, my faith fails.  But with Him, all things are possible.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that I need only to cry out to You for help when I struggle.   I can come honestly before You and You strengthen me in my weakness.  You are the author and perfector of my faith and I am trusting You to increase my faith as I cling to The True Vine. 

I love You, Lord.
