Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps His covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes His unfailing love on those who love Him and obey Him.     Deuteronomy 7:9  (NLT)

In our culture, a lot of emphasis is placed on independence and self- sufficiency, but that is not God’s design. We are a part of a much larger story than our individual lives. God intends for our lives of faithful love for Him to impact future generations. The Lord’s covenant relationship with His people is an enduring promise. His faithfulness provides a basis for us to love and trust Him, and to teach our children to do the same. Living a Godly life leaves a spiritual inheritance-a legacy of faith for the next generation and the generations to come, which is far greater than worldly wealth.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the love that has been passed down for centuries by those who have loved and trusted You. The saints whose faith has touched our lives and helped us to grow is ours to leave for the next generation when we pass from this earth. May those who come behind us find us faithful.
