And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.” Luke 17:6 (NAS)
A mustard seed is one of the tiniest seeds in the world, yet it can grow to a large tree. Our faith, when nurtured, also grows and becomes stronger. Jesus uses the comparison to make it clear that it is not the size of our faith that is important, but the object of our faith. Faith the size of a mustard seed is powerful if placed in God the Father through our Lord Jesus. We can stand strong, knowing that everything God has promised, He is able to do. Our steadfast faith in God can accomplish great things.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for speaking to us in ways that we can understand. Even when my faith seems weak, You remind me to trust in You, not my own strength. As long as my faith is in You alone, I can accomplish what You have called me to do.
I love You, Lord.
Amen.
