Love is not a feeling; it is a choice. Out of love, Jesus endured the cross to pay for our salvation and restore us to the Father. God’s plan is for us to embody the love of Christ wherever we are. Every aspect of our lives is to be rooted in love. This foundational love requires more from us than emotions. We can only learn to love like this from Jesus Himself. Take time to read the Gospels, and get to know your Savior better. Then put into practice what you find there. We are created and called to love- even when we don’t feel like it.

Dear Lord,

I know my attempts to love others are just a shadow of Your love, but I am so grateful for Your Word and Your Spirit, and the confidence that You will teach me day by day. I pray that Your love will permeate my words and actions as I learn to be more like You. Remind me to love even when it doesn’t come easily.

I love You, Lord.
