Morning Moments at FBC Senoia

Starting everyday with the JOY of the Lord!

Wednesday June 4, 2025

For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor, a lifetime. Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning.”    Psalm 30:5 (HCSB)

Why do feelings of anxiety, distress, and loss seem to be worse at night? Maybe our busy lives keep our minds occupied during the day, but when we finally lie down to rest, we come face to face with our problems and shortcomings. Did we allow the Lord to lead us and guide us, or not consult Him at all? Did we act with patience, compassion, and humility, or provoke God’s anger with our sin and our disobedience? God can and does get angry with His children, but He is a loving parent. His anger is temporary and in no way diminishes His love for us.  There may be consequences for our bad choices and actions, but His love for us is unchangeable. His love will chase away the darkness and give us hope in the light of the morning. How refreshing to know God wants us to live in His light with His joy!

Dear Lord,

Sometimes I allow the weight of my sin to worry me through the night. I can be so overwhelmed with sadness and guilt. Please forgive me. You know my every thought and action, yet You love me anyway. Thank you, Lord, for Your unending love- through the dark of night and into the light of morning! Help me to change every hurtful way I act, and to reflect Your love instead.

I love You, Lord,

Amen.
