And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15 ESV
Are there things you are thinking about today that are stealing joy from your life? The news? Financial concerns? Social media? Health worries? God has given us the solution to a lack of joy- gratitude. This verse, from Paul’s letter to the Colossians, links a peaceful heart with a thankful heart. Because God is faithful, I do not have to wait for my circumstances to change to thank Him and rejoice.
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
Heavenly Father,
You are sovereign over every circumstance I am facing or will face in the future. Open my eyes to see the good gifts You have lavishly poured out to me. You are generous in mercy and love and grace. Let me heart and my words be overflowing with thanksgiving to You today and every day.
I love You, Lord.
Amen.
