Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

As followers of Christ, we are called to extend patience and compassion to others, even as we navigate difficult relationships. When hurtful words or actions are directed at you, they can stir up feelings of anger or resentment, but we are to move forward in forgiveness and reconciliation instead. Jesus exemplified this after Peter had denied Him three times. Jesus lovingly restored their relationship and entrusted Peter with a vital role in the early church, demonstrating his renewed commitment to Christ.  Take a moment to reflect on the relationships in your life. Is there unresolved conflict with a family member, co-worker, or friend? Ask the Lord for the grace to forgive and the ability to reflect His mercy and love.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I acknowledge You as my Sovereign Lord and thank You for Your boundless love and forgiveness, made possible through Jesus Christ. Just as You have forgiven me, help me to extend that same grace to others. Help me release feelings of disappointment and anger. Fill my heart with compassion, so I may forgive as You have so graciously forgiven me.

I love You, Lord.

Amen.
