Starting everyday with the JOY of the Lord!

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?  Psalm 22:1 ESV

Jesus was fulfilling prophecy even at His last breath on the cross.  The Jewish crowd would have recognized that He was quoting the words of David, written over 1000 years previously.  Psalm 22 describes the agony of crucifixion, but it doesn’t end there.  It ends in glorious victory when King Jesus rules the nations.  There is prophecy yet to be fulfilled, and we can trust that just as Jesus came to us at exactly the right time in history, He will come again to restore all things, wipe away every tear and heal every broken heart.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being my Rock and my Redeemer, my sovereign Lord who rules and reigns over all.  Keep my eyes focused on You as I journey through this life in a land that is not my true home.  Thank You for being a God who is not distant, but who comes to dwell with Your people. You are our Blessed Hope.

I love You, Lord.

 Amen
