“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”    Genesis 3:15 NIV

These were the prophetic words that God spoke to the serpent after Adam’s sin in the garden.  Man’s sin was not a surprise to Him, and before creation He already had a plan to defeat evil.  Everything in the Old Testament points to that marvelous day in history when God would redeem His own at the cross.  At just the right time, Jesus came and dwelt among us to rescue us from the domain of darkness.  His timing is always perfect.  “Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, should die for me!”

Dear Heavenly Father,

I praise You for being my all-knowing, all-sufficient Father.  You became the Passover Lamb out of love for me.  Thank you for this undeserved gift.   As I ponder the cross this week, help me to live my life as a pleasing sacrifice to You.
