Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.  Matthew 5:3-4 (NIV)

Jesus teaches us that true blessing comes through humility and dependence on God. When we recognize our spiritual weaknesses, we open our hearts to His grace and receive the riches of His Kingdom. Brokenness over our sin and earthly losses leads to God’s comfort and healing. The world seeks happiness in success and possessions, but Jesus promises those who are humble and sorrowful before Him will find true joy and peace. In our weakness, God draws near, restores us, and fills us with His presence.  Do you have areas of your life that you need to release control of and place at the feet of Jesus for His divine attention?

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You acknowledging Your grace, Your mercy, and Your provision.  Thank You for being the loving and patient Father that You are.  Lord, please show us the error of our ways and turn our minds and hearts toward You, so that we may receive the blessing of Your peace in our lives.  Remind us to be intentional each day to find ways to humble ourselves and glorify You to a lost and dying world.
