And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 ESV
What comes to mind when you think of St Patrick? He lived around 450 A.D. and was taken from his home in Scotland at age 16, and forced into slavery in Ireland. During his time in slavery, he sought the Lord and his faith grew. After 6 years, he escaped Ireland and returned to his homeland. However, several years later, he heard God calling him back to Ireland to share the gospel message with the very people who had enslaved him. Today he serves as a great example of one who heard and obeyed the call of God and spent his life as a missionary. Lord, where will you send me today?
Heavenly Father,
You are sovereign over every detail of every life. Thank you that our trials are not wasted, but are preparation for service. Thank you for the example of St Patrick. Guard, protect, and bless the missionaries who are serving You in foreign lands. Help me to hear Your voice and be obedient to go where You call. Thank you for the privilege of being Your ambassador. Help me to represent You well wherever my path leads today.
I love You Lord, Amen.
