Do you ever feel that your prayer life is weak? Most of us have felt that way at times. Yet prayer is indispensable if we want to be close to Jesus. Prayer is simply an honest conversation that you have with God, who loves you and wants you to come to Him. The first Christian prayers, then, are the words that various people spoke directly to Jesus, and He invariably responded by calling them closer. Spontaneous moments of thanks, or praise, or crying out to Him are prayers. In His infinite love, God genuinely delights in conversation with you. Seek Him continually. He is always close by.

Dearest Lord,

Thank You so much for hearing my prayers. I don’t always feel eloquent or especially spiritual, but You know me, and love me, and listen to me anyway. Keep me mindful of how close You are always, and help me to make prayer a way of life.
