And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 (NAS)
God’s Word has a lot to say about kindness, and for good reason- kindness is a key aspect of love. It is the way we demonstrate God’s love toward others. Jesus showed kindness every day by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, reaching out to the poor, and comforting the grieving. He lived His life as a model for us to follow. Kindness is not a feeling; it’s a deliberate choice we make and act upon. It is also a reflection of God’s character. Choose to be kind. Take time to offer kindness to everyone, especially those who can do nothing for you in return.
Heavenly Father,
I invite You to fill my heart, my eyes, and my lips with Your kindness. Make me aware of moments when a kind word or gesture can bless someone. I open myself to the work of Your Spirit in me so that I can see ways to model Your love toward others.
I love You Lord, Amen.
