Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up.   James 4:10 NIV

Do you humbly give yourself to God? Do you go to Him willing to submit to His will and plan for you, or do you tend to come up with what you think is the best plan and then ask God to bless it?  Most of us find ourselves doing that from time to time. Then we wonder why things don’t work out as we think they should. We need to seek Him first, fall before Him and listen for the direction of the Holy Spirit. We may not fully understand His plan, but we are called to trust and obey Him. Only then can we be confident that we are on the right path.

Lord, 

I come before You and praise You. I know that You work all things together for my good. Please help me to be quiet and listen for your direction. Help me submit completely to Your will. Help me trust and obey your plans.
