Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you.  Hold them in highest regard in love because of their work.  Live in peace with each other.     1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 NIV

How often do I take the time to show appreciation to the people who tirelessly work to fulfil the calling that God has given them?  He has placed them in these positions for such a time as this.  Let us be intentional to think of ways to encourage and to bless them today.  And most importantly, pray for them.  

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the pastors and teachers and mentors that You have placed in my life.  I have grown closer to You because of their diligence in being Your faithful servants.  I bring them by name before You now.  Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit and guide them in everything that they do.  Give them wisdom from above. Protect them and their families from enemy attacks.  Fill them with joy.  Provide for them abundantly and bless them for their service.  Give them courage and discernment in times when they must admonish, and let their words fall on receptive and grateful ears.  Shower Your favor upon them.  Give them times of rest and refreshment.   Glorify Yourself through them.  Show me ways to encourage them.
