“Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” Is 43:18-19 CSB
Are you stuck in the past? Do your thoughts constantly go back to a past sin, hurtful relationship or life altering event? Sometimes we dwell so much on our past pains, we’re unable to move forward with our lives. This scripture reminds us that the Lord doesn’t want us to dwell on the past. He is doing something new in our lives- He encourages us to move forward. “Do you see it?” The Lord calls us out of the darkness, out of the wilderness of regrets and pain. He provides streams in the desert to quench our thirst and refresh our spirits. Letting go of past pain is never easy, but it is possible with the Lord.
Dear Lord,
Help me let go of the past. You have forgiven me for my sins. Help me to forgive myself and others who have caused me heartache. Lord, please heal me from these hurts, and show me how to let go of them completely. Only You can truly take away my pain. I will trust You as You enable me to move forward.
I love You, Lord, Amen.
