He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”  Rev 21:5 NIV

As we start a new year, we often resolve to make changes in our lives. Perhaps we want to implement better exercise or eating strategies. Maybe we wish to mend a broken relationship. Possibly we long to have more intentional time in the Word and with the Lord. Our intentions are good, but as time passes, these changes can become more and more difficult to do on our own. This scripture reminds us that the Lord can make everything new. He wants us to remember to keep Him on the throne of our hearts. The Lord wants us to make Him first. He desires time with us. His Word is “trustworthy and true.” How often we forget just how much the Lord loves us and cares for us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to make us new!

Dear Lord, 

Thank you for sending Jesus to earth for my sins. I will never fully understand, but please help me not to forget that Your sacrifice made me new. Remind me to lean on you when things are difficult and I need help to stay on track. You are always there for me.
