The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.  Deut. 31:8 NIV

How often have you made a plan only to find that it didn’t turn out the way you hoped it would? Sometimes we find ourselves moving ahead with our own plans before seeking the Lord for His. We expect that our plans will have a good outcome because we assume we know what is best for us. By depending on ourselves rather than the Lord, we set ourselves up for disappointment and failure. Why is it such a struggle to trust and obey God? The Lord reminds us through His Word that He goes before us. He lights His path for us in ways we will never fully comprehend. God’s Word tells us He will never leave us or forsake us. We do not have to walk in fear and worry. If we live and walk according to the His Word, we can rest assured He will show us His plan.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for Your Word and Your promises. Help me not to run ahead of You, but to wait for You to direct my path. Thank you for reassuring me through Your Word. Remind me to seek You always and to trust Your plan for me.
