But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:8 (NIV)
Plants rooted near water enjoy a constant source of nourishment, grow strong and resilient, bear fruit steadily, and offer shade to those in need. These verses serve as a powerful encouragement for followers of Christ as we step into the new year. If we are rooted in Christ, He nourishes us so that we may bear fruit – teach others, live a life devoted to God’s work, and support those in need. We are not consumed by our daily challenges, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is His faithfulness! One thing remains unchanging: God’s love for us. We can always depend on His steadfast and unfailing mercy. Are you trusting in the Lord for everything today?
Dear Heavenly Father,
I praise you for being my faithful and loving Father. Thank you that amid life’s challenges, you love me deeply. You are my Rock, my Redeemer, and my Provider. Thank You that in Christ I have all I need to stand firm in faith. I pray that no matter what difficulties arise in my day, I will draw all my hope and strength from You. I pray for freedom from fear, worry, and anxiety. I pray that I live a life that honors You and that I would bear much fruit for Your praise and glory.
I love You Lord, Amen.
